Ricky Coughlin began with State of the Art Tae Kwon Do in the 5th grade. Prior to becoming involved in Tae Kwon Do, Ricky was involved with yoga and Boys Scouts. Now his free time is spent between Tae Kwon Do and marching band practices/performances. Ricky greatly enjoys the teaching aspect of his involvement with SOTATKD and recognizes the positive impact the discipline of Tae Kwon Do has had on his life. He is especially appreciative of Master Hyde and Ms. Sheila Hyde’s influence and teaching as he has developed as a Black Belt.
Ricky is also a music major at Cypress Lake High School’s Center for the Arts. He plays French horn, mellophone, trumpet, guitar, and ukulele. When he is not in the music room, or the marching field, or in the Tae Kwon Do studio, he is practicing the art of baking. Ricky has several degrees he is interested in pursuing in college: culinary, physical training, or business. Ultimately, he wants to open his own business. Quite possibly a vegetarian/health focused bed and breakfast that provides weekend musical performances.
